I listened to a a variety of different stations and found there were a wide selection of different types of jingles on each radio station. As part of my research I have included some jingles I've heard as well included a website which contain a variety of different jingles.
Station Jingle:
-Station jingles are played many times on the radio.
-It contains the station name/ frequency/ slogan.
Show Jingles:
-States the name of the station/show and sometimes the presenter(s). The tone of the jingle can be an indicator of the tone of the show.

-May include the name of the station as well as the word 'news.'
-The tone of the jingle as well as the music may be more serious/ dramatic giving a hint that the news is serious.
Specific Competition Jingles
-The music for this jingle may reflect what the competition will be for. E.g a competition for tickets at a concert may have the music of that specific band.
-The name of station will appear.
-The tone of the advert will usually be more upbeat as well as the presenters may be more enthusiastic whilst talking about the competition.
Traffic and Travel Jingles
-This is played mostly during the morning Breakfast Shows and the shows during rush hour.
- The jingle states the name of the station whilst adding the word 'travel' or 'traffic.'
-It may have music or sound effects but that will depend on what genre the statioin is.
-Often as part of the jingle a sponsor will be mentioned and there will be a slogan.
Sports Jingles
-State the name of the station as well as the word 'sport.'
-Presenter will be enthusiastic and the music/ sound effects will be upbeat reflection on the excitement for sport.
-May include sound effects of a stadium during a match e.g crowds cheering.
-May include a slogan.
Weather
-Will state the name of the station with the word 'weather.'
-It is usually sponsored by a company.
-The tone of the jingle is softer.
-The weather jingle may include sound effects sometimes of weather.
-The weather is usually in the morning to give information of the rest of the day.
I will be including a number of these jingles during my radio show.
