Overall Comparing National and Local Radio News Stories.

After listening to 2 local radio stations (Manchester and Oxford) and 3 national radio stations (talkSPORT, BBC Radio 2, Heart Radio.) I came to the conclusion that:

local news:

- contained stories which involved the people from each region which would unlikely be mentioned on national news unless it involves the news value 'amplitude.'

- mentioned a few national news stories.

-the most important news value was familiarity because the story would be mentioned if it involved the audience in each region.

national news:

-National news rarely had a local story.

-Concerned larger regions then local news.
